Split tunneling splits traffic into two paths

Split tunneling allows some apps to continue through the VPN and others to use the regular network. ZoogVPN's split tunneling instructions adopt application exclusion: applications that need to maintain regular connections are excluded from the VPN tunnel.

This is suitable for scenarios where you have different tasks going on at the same time, such as a work app staying on VPN while an app that requires a local egress uses a regular connection.

In what situations is split tunneling suitable?

  1. Work remotely: Keep work apps that require VPN connected.
  2. Local services: Exclude apps that require a regular network location on demand.
  3. Multitasking: Reduce the need to repeatedly turn on and off VPN for different applications.
  4. Transmission scheduling: Choose appropriate network paths for different tasks, but don’t mistakenly exclude transmissions that need protection.

Set up an app exclusion list

  1. Open ZoogVPN settings and find the Split Tunneling or split tunneling option.
  2. Read the option description first to confirm whether the current interface uses inclusion or exclusion.
  3. Add apps that require regular network to the corresponding list and save the settings.
  4. Follow the app prompts to reconnect; close and reopen the adjusted app if necessary.
  5. Check whether the VPN path and regular path applications can access the service normally.

How to confirm after adjustment?

If the browser is excluded, its IP detection results may show a regular network address, which does not mean that other applications that go through the VPN will follow the same path. Each application's settings and connection results should be checked individually.

Split tunneling, system proxies, and browser extensions may affect routing at the same time. When you encounter results that are not as expected, check the application list first, and then check other network configurations, instead of judging the entire device's connection based on just one web page.

If you already have an account, you can use your registered email address to log in within the ZoogVPN app. New users can register through the app's account creation portal; the same account can be used on supported platforms.

Select password reset on the app login interface, use your registered email address to receive emails, and check your spam folder. If you still cannot restore access, please contact the support team.

Packages, Renewals and Refunds

Please check where your subscription was purchased. Subscriptions purchased from the app store are managed by the corresponding store; for other billing issues, please provide your registered email address, payment date and order information and contact the support team. Deleting the app will not cancel renewal.

Use your device or browser's built-in password manager to generate a long enough random password for ZoogVPN and save it. Don’t reuse passwords for email, social networking sites, or other services.

Use the password reset function on the app login screen. Confirm that the reset email comes from the intended service, and then follow the prompts; there is no need to send passwords or verification codes to customer service.

When you suspect your password has been compromised, change your password promptly and contact the support team. Provide your registered email address and time when the problem occurred during consultation to avoid sending passwords or complete payment information.
