Understand the functions clearly
After the device is connected to ZoogVPN, traffic passing through the VPN will first reach the VPN server through the encrypted tunnel and then access the target service. Encryption converts directly readable data into something that requires a key to interpret, reducing the risk of others on the same network reading the transmission.
A VPN protects the connection between your device and the server; the website's own HTTPS is still used to protect your communication with the website. Both can work simultaneously and undertake different ranges of protection.
AES is a symmetric encryption algorithm, 128 and 256 represent the key length. ZoogVPN’s free servers use AES-128, and its Premium servers use AES-256. Longer keys provide greater key space, but day-to-day speeds are also affected by device, protocol, and server distance.

The VPN protocol determines how the connection is established, verified, and transmitted; algorithms such as AES are responsible for data encryption. Protocols and encryption algorithms such as OpenVPN and IKEv2 belong to different levels, and all connection parameters cannot be determined based on the protocol name alone.
End-to-end encryption typically protects messages between the sender and receiver of a communication. A VPN tunnel terminates at a VPN server, so VPN encryption is not equivalent to end-to-end encryption for chat apps, nor does it replace password and verification settings for website accounts.
